30 January Bye bye, blog. So, this is officially my last entry on my blog. I just can't keep up with it and I don't have anything interesting to talk about anyway! Who wants to read boring stuff? Not me!
Most everyone who reads this is already my friend on Facebook or on Myspace, but if not, hit me up! That's where you can always find me.
Kelly :-) 24 December Merry Christmas!Merry Christmas everyone! First off, let me put a link to my new favorite song of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQWXfHzOKUU&feature=related Go check it out...it's breathtaking!
Second, here is my yearly plea to please remember the REAL reason for the holiday! I know it's fun to get gifts and see family and eat good food, etc.... But, we are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus. It's his day! We need to remember that and be thankful for all the wonderful things we have been blessed with this past year. (Tell that to my greedy kids, lol).
With all that has happened to Shawn this past year and most recently (there was even more that I didn't blog about because I'm sure people are thinking "Enough already!") I really wasn't in the Christmas spirit. But I know that's the wrong way to be. It's not about us or all the crap that happened, it's about celebrating Jesus' birth.
So....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Have a wonderful holiday and stay safe.
08 December UpdateSo the realtor came last Thursday and we can't sell right now. We'd have to ask way too much and the market is just not good at all. It's not happening. So I have to keep praying that Shawn will get to work safely everyday. No more deer. No more cops. No car trouble. Nothing!
Here's a recap of everything that happened in case you don't know. Gosh, what a horrible couple of weeks we had. First, Shawn got hit by *another* deer. His car was totaled again. So we were panicking again trying to get him yet another car. We can't afford two car payments and so it had to be one that we could pay with the cash from his totaled car. We did that on Dylan's birthday (poor kid had to sit patiently in a car dealership on his b-day). So the day after Thanksgiving, Shawn is going to work and goes through a soberity (sp??) check point. They run his license and it's STILL coming up as suspended. We all remember the drama from back in March/April where he got himself suspended, blah blah. But, he did the 30 days and I paid the $50 and all was supposed to be well. We even called the DMV to make sure he could drive again and they said yes. But he still came up as suspended and they had to tow his car home ($80!!!!!!!) and he had to miss work that day. Stupid ass WV DMV decides to give themselves the Friday after Thanksgiving off as well, so we couldn't get anything done. Saturday we piled all the kids into his new car (Pontiac Sunfire, 2-door, mind you) because MY van was at the shop with a squeaky belt and burning smell. We packed them all in the car to go to the DMV and try to start it. Nothing. We tried for like 5 minutes. Nothing. So we have to call AAA and have them come try to jump it because my van was not there to use as a jump and they came and it didn't work. I am on the phone with the dealership telling them about this and that they are going to fix it 100% free and they need to come get this car NOW! They said they'd fix it but refused to tow it. UGH. So we had to shell out more money to tow it there. I had to ask a neighbor (thanks again Jessica P!) to drive me to get my van so we could make it to the DMV by 12pm. We haul ass up 81 and make it there by 11:46. Shawn runs in and comes out with this horrible look on his face. They can't help him! We have to go through the Charleston DMV since it's the main one! GRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Fast forward to Monday. We finally get in touch with the DMV and they said it happened because the check I wrote "went to the wrong place." WHAT???? They don't even apologize for the error or offer to help me fix it. I am literally screaming in the phone that this is unacceptable and it needs to be fixed NOW. I told them that my husband could have been arrested, our vehicle could have been impounded, we have three young children and this was ABSURD! I said he did the 30 days, we wrote the check and it cleared, we did everything we were supposed to do and I wanted it fixed now. i said I wanted a letter of admitance, a letter of apology and I wanted his citation cleared and paid for. They sent the letters and they worked with the court to clear the citation, but they sold us we had to go to Small Claims Court to file a claim for the $80. MF'ers!!!!!!!!! I was still screaming at them and all they could say was "We suspend over 60,000 drivers a year and we don't have super human computers....some people just fall through the cracks." You all just don't know how close I came to blowing a gasket. I was seriously about to pass out from anger and frusteration with *everything*.
We ended up going to court to file a claim and it costs freaking $70 to file. So we would be paying $70 (that we don't have) to get $80 back. Yeeeeah. Didn't happen. Oh and if you are ever unfortunate enough to have to go to the courthouse for any reason, be prepared to be treated like a criminal. I understand the metal detectors and such, but these idiots take it waaaay to far. And the people at the Magistrates office treated us like we were idiots as well.
So, I'm done with WV. Just counting the months until we can sell and move back to VA and have some normalcy.
Oh yeah and I got a physical and found out that I have high blood pressure. I have to go on a low sodium diet and lose at LEAST 17lbs - 10% of my body weight. I'm going to lose all the rest of the pregnancy weight, which is 37 lbs and them I'll be back to my pre preg weight of 140. I hope I can do it again! 01 December I hate West VirginiaI hate West Virginia
I hate West Virginia
I hate West Virginia
In case I haven't mentioned this before: I hate West Virginia.
Realtor is coming here on Thursday to appraise the house. Putting the house on the market. Moving the fuck back to Virginia.
That is all. 02 November We had a great Halloween! We had an awesome Halloween, per usual! Yay! The kids got loaded with candy and had a blast. Aidan made it around the block and then Shawn took him back home. You can tell from the picture that he was kinda not in the best mood to start off, lol. I put the birthday background on because on the 26th of this month, my Dylan will be 8 years old! EIGHT! Where has the time gone people?? I ask you! Shawn will also be turning 31 on November 16th. Time flies. Looking forward to Thanksgiving, too! Yum!
13 October It's been forever...since I've blogged! I know! I can't help it, lol. my hands are sooo full right now. Here's a short update:
Dylan is doing great. He makes at least 2 goals every soccer game - he rocks! He'll be turning 8 next month and I can't even believe that. He continues to get straight A's and is overall a perfect ki!
Nathan is awesome! He has another loose tooth already! We're signing him up for t-ball in the Spring and can't wait. Nathan is my sweet boy and is always so helpful with the baby.
Aidan is 4 months old now and changing soooo much everyday. He's been rolling over for months now and pushes up on his hands, he does this 'scooting' thing when he's on his tummy. It's so cute! It's the last thing they do before crawling. That boy will be crawling in NO time and then I will *really* have my hands full. Aidan is such a delight, he's always smiling and in a good mood. He's the cutest baby EVA! Oh and he is now grasping things and will take something from you if you put it in front of him. He's the bomb!
Well, that's all I have time for now. Things are out of control with soccer and Halloween parties and regular birthday parties, etc, etc....
I hope everyone is enjoying this great fall weather!!!
11 September I guess public school is rubbing off on him...We leave for the bus at 7:50 every morning. I have always let the boys keep track of the time because I think it teaches them to be responsible. Here lately Nathan has been saying "Mom! We've got to go, it's seven FITTY!" Not fifty, but fitty. I guess Nathan is going gangsta on me at the tender age of 5 1/2. lol 06 September The tooth fairy is making a comeback...It's been a while since Dylan lost a tooth and I was having tooth fairy withdrawls, lol. But that's ok, because just a few hours ago my Natey baby lost his first one! YEAH! He sure is growing up fast! The tooth had been loose for a while and I was concerned that he might lose it at school during lunch or something. He said it was hurting him, so we checked it out and it was ready! Shawn actually did the pulling this time because we are also crib-training Aidan (long story, lol) and I had to be with him. It's been a big summer for Nathan. He was able to dunk his head under water this year at swimming lessons and he jumped in unassisted, he made it all the way across the monkey bars at the playground by himself, he started Kindergarten and now he lost a tooth. PHEW!
Thank goodness the dollar store is open until 8 on Saturdays because I had to run there and get some things to put under his pillow. I need to keep an emergency tooth loss kit or something, lmfao. 27 August Why all the yelling? Why is it that all the teachers and bus drivers in Berkeley County yell? Are these people not aware that they are working with *children*? Are they not *trained* specifically to work with children? I had to write a letter to the school last year because one of the teachers was yelling at the kids during lunchtime. A very large, bulky, deep voiced, male teacher to be exact. I got a call back, spoke to the teacher myself, he promised he would make an effort not to yell anymore and I got over it.
Ok, so this year it's twice as bad. The bus driver, Mr. Riley yelled at the kids yesterday (first day of school!) and today as well. Nathan just started kindergarten along wtih many other kids and it upset him pretty bad. The bus has a loudspeaker, so there is just no need for this behavior. We have another situation going on with the bus that has forced me and a bunch of other moms to call the transportation office, but that's another blog rant altogether. AND, Nathan's teacher, Mrs. Randle yelled at the kids yesterday. Seriously W-T-F? They are 5 year old children on their first day of kindergarten! Surely this woman can respect these kids and come up with a better solution then to yell at them. If it happens again, I will be calling or writing to the school. Again. I guess I have turned into one of *those* parents, huh? Oh well. My children will not be treated like this. It's just plain unacceptable! 25 August You know it's time for back to schoolwhen you hear the following two things come out of your children's mouths:
1. You are so NOT the boss of me. I can fart whenever I WANT!!!!
2. Let's ride down the stairs on our beanbags! You go in the front.
Enough said. |
Thanks for visiting!
